It may seem an unusual sight to see Samuel L. Jackson and Doris Roberts traversing through a sea of Elie Tahari frocks together, but that was the scene last night at Elie Tahari’s party to celebrate the opening night of the May cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore. Roberts, along with Daryl Roth, Anna Chlumsky, Julie Halston, LaTanya Richardson, and Brooke Shields congregated at the SoHo store along with Tahari and Nora and Delia Ephron for cocktails to toast the show's triumphant beginning. Shields smiled and sighed, “We started yesterday, so I feel like it was a miracle that happened tonight. It all went off without a hitch, so that’s all we can ask for!” Although the store was packed, Shields eyed some of Elie Tahari’s creations. “I love that Elie Tahari is bringing the fringe bag back!” she declared. Elated cast members embraced Ephron, and Roberts was especially joyful. “How exciting is this?” She asked. “We’ve done so much in such a short span of time. The only thing I’m complaining about is that I fear this warm weather won’t stay. What can we do to stop the rain?” She paused, shrugged her shoulders, and sighed, “All we can do is pray, I guess!”
